Sure, what the hell. Maybe you've downloaded a bunch of music and enjoy it. Perhaps you've enjoyed a Jedediah Parish live performance and you are also a wealthy person. Maybe you think Jed is handsome and deserves money because of it. It is your money. If you'd like to make it Jed's money, that is easily done.

How much should you contribute? Let your conscience be your guide. $1 per song you've downloaded is probably a good guideline. (This whole 'donation' thing is mostly for people who want to pay for MP3s.) A general guideline for the maximum donation is 3 months salary.
